Principle: “The cliche is IMPORTANT” - Pareto
I get tired of hearing the same advice constantly.
But if I zoomed out on my trajectory, I bet I’d notice the same thing you would:
Every time you’re reminded of a deep truth (reminded, not taught for the first time), the direction of your trajectory line changes 1%.
This begs the question: do you need to read all the books, or just 5 over and over?
Do you need to gather all the health hacks or just commit fully to going to bed at 10pm?
Are you bored with true wisdom and therefore seeking novelty in tactics that will produce only marginal gains?
Tactics
Make a list of the 5 things you’re most trying to improve about your business.
Conversion rates, customer experience scores, instagram reels, meta ad CTR’s, return rates, attrition at month 3… Whatever is most pressing.
Write one sentence about how you’re currently trying to improve each.
Is that really what’s going to improve it? Are you spending all your efforts cold plunging when you should just be eating less cake?
Are you optimizing creative to make more sales when you should just be calling new leads within 60 seconds of them coming in?
Be honest with yourself.
You’ll notice the answers that come to you about what you should be doing are much simpler and less creative than the methods you’re currently using… but they’re the right ones.
They’re the ones that will yield 80% of your results if you nail them.
Habits/Experiments
Sleep when it’s time. Eat vegetables.
Read a good book.
Follow up on sales leads quickly.
Tell your product’s story without any fluff or awesome-looking web design.
Just do the most important things right, and you won’t need the other tactics.
